This New Orleans loft is so well behaved but it is not Laissez les bon temps rouler, a way of life in this city. The designer of this project, Uhalt will give a party to Charlotte Bollinger’s loft at the drop of a hat. The client’s home is an hour away in Louisiana has bought this almost 2000 sqft loft in this Arts District which is mainly as a famous place to host elegant and fun dinner parties. The big mirrors in the living room reflect an awful lot of fun in this gathering space and they certainly do that. Moreover, those decorative items also create windows feeling and bring in much-need light. Belle époque French once hung in the orangery.
Move to the dining area of the New Orleans loft. One item on the console shows off the sparkle of the chandelier and visually expands this space. Both of the candlelight and crystal have become a lovely setting for a pleasing conversation. Venice painted scene dominates the living room of this opulent New Orleans loft. The client found that decorative screen at an antiques fair. When firstly Uhalt came to visit her, she could not stop looking at it. Then, they pulled their palette from it because the screen has reminded them the moody blues, browns and greens of the bayou where the client grew up. Then, they use it as the focal point in the living room.
After getting inspiring living room idea, let’s talk about another topic. Charlotte obviously wanted her New Orleans loft to feel like a Parisian pied-à-terre. It is so unexpected when you open the door of this New Orleans loft and gasp. The client’s grandma came to Louisiana from Marseiles, then we were both Francophiles thus it is a joy to shop together. The most important furniture in this New Orleans loft is the dining table. It is an old French walnut with a lovely waxed patina. Like in France, in New Orleans life is a wonderful meal series. Thus, I adore how the table opens up so that you can make a room to be perfect guest numbers. This table can be used to accommodate ten. An oval is always be a good feature because no one if left out on the ends.
