The Seacombe Grove House in minimalist residence design is placed in Melbourne, Australia. The project has been accomplished by B.E. Architecture with two story building. The main idea was to put outdoor space with a continuous green surround the residence. Physically and visually, space can be accessed from all level of the lower living area through the extended glass element.

The whole ground floor of Seacombe Grove House is attached with protected garden courtyard, and each of those gardens is framed by a high fence that enables the entire area to be private and usable excepting for the pedestrian and entry site. The living space of ground floor is divided into two different areas i.e. day or summer area that facing north and west direction. Space merges with the lap pool, garden and framed outdoor dining spaces. The night or winter area that facing the east and south direction. The partition of the zone is done by the addition of staircase and a void in two levels.

The effective slice and vertical movement element in the Seacombe Grove House are not seen until the main entrance to this minimalist residence design. The element provides segregation which is located on the upper floor. It is the kid’s bedroom, master bedroom, and laundry facilities. Pergolas of large spotted gum are constructed from the lower to upper stage to increase the usable of the outdoor spaces. Glazed roofs and operable walls are added to those black pergolas and also display to the ground and float the bluestone from above. The upper stage with continuous glazing on the ground floor, the upper stage looks in contrast with the exposed stone walls. Apertures embrace the inhabitants of this s Seacombe Grove House from the major road.

The material used is addressed to maximize their ability in spanning the life of this minimalist residence design. Aged and a natural element such as bluestone show newness to the Seacombe Grove House décor. The bluestone cladding is cut in four different widths with a random stacked pattern to highlight the minimalist residence design horizontality.
